Company History
Empirical Modeling and Analytics, Inc., (dba EMA Softech) is a technology firm located in Plano, Texas. Our founder, Dr. James D. MacBeth, PhD., was an associate of Dr. Eugene F. Fama, PhD. at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business in the mid-to-late 1970’s and jointly worked on financial economics and capital markets research while publishing several research papers together.
For the past 35 years EMA has served as a consultative research and production resource for registered investment advisors, pension consultants, and custodial banks. We develop data aggregation tools and custom solutions to meet the specifications of our clients. Our network is penetration tested by an independent firm on an annual basis. All consulting services, programming and technical support is based in Plano, Texas. |
Our Team
Charles Gabriel, President
As the President of EMA Softech, Mr. Gabriel oversees the entire operation. Mr. Gabriel has been with EMA since 1995. His primary focuses have been performance measurement and risk attribution, manager searches, and the coordination of new research with client needs. He earned his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a M.S. in accounting and finance from the University of Texas at Dallas. Jerry Kelso, Chief Technologist Mr. Kelso joined EMA Softech in 2001 as the primary technical manager focused on rapid custom software development and project analysis. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Kelso worked at Bayer Diagnostics in field engineering and Lucent Technologies as an application developer. He has a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, Dallas. Jerry is furthering his education with continual cyber security training. Mark Krueger, Financial Engineer Mr. Krueger joined EMA Softech in 2004 as a financial analyst and software developer. Prior to joining EMA Softech, he had 19 years experience as a graphical interface developer and network software driver developer. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Trinity University and a Masters degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas along with a Masters of Science in Quantitative Finance from the University of Texas, Arlington. David Geddie, Production Support / Developer Mr. Geddie joined EMA Softech in 2010 as a production support engineer and software developer. Prior to joining EMA Softech, Mr. Geddie had 12 years experience as the CTO and financial controller at Bowling and Billiard Supplies of Dallas. He has earned a degree in Computer Science and furthered his education at the University of Texas, Dallas along with continual cyber security training. |
